4 Content Ideas For Actors To Share On Instagram

Instagram is one of the best free resources an actor can use. Casting directors and creatives often turn to social media platforms to learn more about the actors they are bringing in for their shows!

But having an Instagram account and posting occasional content is only the first step.

Here are 4 content ideas to take your personal Instagram to the next level.

Content Ideas For Actors To Share On Instagram

1. Press

Were you recently featured on a podcast? A blog post? An article? Did a theatre critic give you a shout out in a rave review?

Snag a screenshot and share it to your Instagram feed! Share the link to the full article in your bio so your audience can read more.

2. Production photos

Share photos of you doing the thing! Your audience loves seeing you do what you love - post your favorite memories backstage, your favorite costume, or your favorite moment on stage.

We all know most of us haven’t performed in some time because of the pandemic. But there’s no harm in a little #ThrowbackThursday!

3. Behind the scenes

One of my favorite things to do on Instagram is to take my followers behind the scenes. Whether I’m working on a big project, a product launch, a podcast episode, or simply taking the day off, I love to give my audience a peek into a day in my life!

Share with us your self-tape bloopers, your walk in the park or all the puppy photos. Give us a glimpse into who you are outside of the theatre industry.

4. Performance videos

This is your time to SHINE. Here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling:

  • Share a piece of choreography you’ve learned

  • Share a performance video from a show you were recently in

  • Share a cover of your favorite song

  • Share your special skills! (instruments, sports, etc)

Show us what you do best!
